I do not really care for software boxes and manuals. Most of the software I bought in the last few years where pay to download software like MalwareBytes Paid version, WinPatrol Paid version, and Windows 7 Home premium (downloaded the ISO and burned the DVD myself).
The last paid software I bought which cam in a Box was Norton Antivirus 2000 before I discovered free alternatives like Microsoft Security Essentials.
The software box and instructions helps me to better understand more about the software's effectiveness and usefulness to me, the consumer, and whether the software has a high reputation or has won any awards.
I posted this in the wrong section. I better move it to the Tech section where it get more views.
Same for me when I bought software from a store I read the entire box to see if it will work on my PC and how good it is. These days, I just use download.com and other software sites for answers for common software facts.
