I feel Cable TV still will have a lot of viewers for many years to come because services like Netflix, and Hulu+ don't run well on slower connections which is still common in a lot of places. A lot of internet service providers still limit users bandwidth to 300GB or less making streaming video not a good option for people who watch a lot of TV.
The cost of internet becomes more expensive in many cases if you don't subscribe to Cable when you subscribe to a ISP which is also a cable tv provider.
I'd agree with that, cable still has a long way to go before it ever stops. And, if you like TV, there really isn't much better out there yet. My provider offers a live TV and On Demand app for my phone, tablet, and Roku, as well as a web app, along with our DVR STB.
And for me, nothing has really replaced the TV Guide style of looking up shows. I can watch whatever I want on Hulu or Netflix, but until they have channels, TV is always going to be my choice for background media.
Nowadays internet is replacing TV but both have their advantages. Also here internet is cheaper than cable box. But I don't think non tech people will see the far advantages of internet.
