How often do you have to reinstall Windows on your computer?

For Windows 98, I had to reinstall it 5+ times . When I moved to Windows Vista, I had to reinstall Windows 2+ times. Now I'm using Windows 7, I had to reinstall Windows 7 about 2 times since using it.

For every version, of Windows I used, I had to format and reinstall at least 2 times or more.

we have had a routine of backing-up data, re-formatting and installing windows, and we do this about 3 times a year,


did this a few times for 98, A LOT for Windows XP PRO, and now have done it about 10 times with windows 7 (multiple different computers and laptops)

Not sure, I think I just have very bad luck with Windows. Plus, the earlier version of Windows like 98, Me, XP, Vista tend to be buggy in my experience. Windows 7 is slightly better, but I notice I still experiences freezes with it once or twice a day.

I switch to Ubuntu Linux as my main Operating System since I notice I don't have to reinstall it as often, or at all till I upgrade to the latest version.
