PS4 How to tweak the media player

Shortly after the release of PS4 I had made a big compliant on it.

I have an ex-drive that I hold all of my movies on and I've been using my ps3 to watch them with it. It's been pretty smooth. My complaint on the ps4 is that FAT32 was incompatible and therefore my ex-drive wouldn't work with my new PS4.

Recently, I have discovered that ps4 has upgraded their media player and now my drive does work on it. While I am excited I hit a road bump.
Not all of the movies work anymore. That's not too big of a deal but also about 1/2 of the movie sound is not matching the videos.

Does anyone know if I can install some codex or something so that my media player will work better for the ps4?

If PS4 is like PS3, then you can't install anything on it besides games or whats in the PSN store.

I am looking around and seeing an option called streaming a codec from your PC to PS4, may want to look into that.
