As of tomorrow, January 14th 2020, Windows 7 will no longer be supported by Microsoft. To ensure you remain up to date on security measures, its recommended to upgrade to Windows 8 or 10. 10 would be the better choice so here is some simple steps:
  1. Go to this Windows 10 webpage and click the Download tool now button
  2. Run the Media Creation Tool, which you’ve just downloaded
  3. When the first menu appears, choose the Upgrade this PC now option and follow the instructions

It is nice that Windows 10 is still free, but I got a feeling some slower and older computers may have problems during the upgrade.

Maybe buying a new Windows 10 PC would be a better option for people who own a very old or slow Windows 7 PC with 1 GB RAM, Intel Celeron or Atom CPU, slower video card, and 32GB storage drive.

I've had a few believing it was better to upgrade, they ended up wasting money as their pcs soon went to crap.

Hopefully, they backed up their data since some of those old hard drives on very old PC may randomly break when doing intensive tasks like a full Windows upgrade.

There is also a chance of data corruption if the upgrade got messed up.

even new pc HDDs can break after 6 months.

My computer is 12 years old and it works great with Windows 10.

I got a computer from 2007 which runs Windows 10 32bit at a good speed. But, there were some Intel Atom and Celeron, 1 GB RAM, and 250GB hard drive computers which run more slowly on Windows 10.

I use Windows 10 64 bits.
I have Pentium dual-core with 4 GB memory and it works great for my needs (mainly web browsing and watching movies on YouTube).
1 GB is definitely not enough, even with 2 GB web browsing is very slow, you need at least 4GB.

I formatted my laptop to default factory but seems the option no longer exists due to the replacement of the Windows 10 reformatting option! What a great thing to have!

Windows 10 32bit is somewhat usable with 1GB of RAM if you do not have a lot of tabs open on a web browser, and mostly visit websites like forums, and simple websites.

I used Windows 10 32B on a PC with 3GB of RAM, and an Intel Core2Dou CPU, and it works at a decent speed when web browsing, and watching video files. It can even play some games which don't need a fast CPU, and a lot of RAM.

You have a stronger CPU then I have. I only have Pentium dual-core E5200, but I have more memory :D

I don't want to be limited when I browse the web. I want to open many tabs and watch videos on YouTube.
With 4 GB I can even open 10 tabs and my memory is only 70% according to the Windows task manager.
In case my desktop was limited while browsing, I would definitely buy a new one.
