How you will rate an anime if it is animated so beautifully yet the story is average?

I am not really sure.
Is it the same for you guys? Do you think a bad story can he compensated with good animation?

Then I wonder why God eater never got much popularity. It's got cool animation and a decent story which is similar to aot

For an anime to be good, the story has to be good. Like any TV shows, even if it looks good, if the story is average, it's not as enjoyable really
