Smartphones these days usually come with a rear and front-facing camera. Typically the front-facing camera isn’t as powerful, although some OEMs have been trying to bump its specs to make it more attractive to selfie-lovers. Now in 2014, Oppo announced the Oppo N3 which came with a rotating camera.

This allowed users to use it as a front or back camera without any difference in quality. Apparently the idea is starting to catch on as the Huawei Honor 7i with a rotating camera has been announced. However unlike Oppo, Huawei’s camera will flip up instead as opposed to rotating on its axis.

The rotating 180 degree camera looks pretty useful for people who take selfies videolog/vlog since the rear camera usually has a better quality camera.

eh, this only promotes the selfie problem.

I agree this promotes the selfie problem, and may also promote the sexting problems of people sending nude pictures, and videos.

At least, there would be fewer Selfies of people who take their pictures in front of a mirror. The picture quality, and resolution of selfies would also be better, so the selfies are more useful for making other images like large banners, meme and header graphics for Facebook, Twitter, forums, and blogs.
