Hulu announced today a new subscription-based service called "Hulu Plus" that will allow users to stream high-definition television shows on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Apple mobile devices and televisions.

The service will cost $9.99 a month, and will be compatible with the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Apple iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch, Samsung Blu-ray players, PCs, and other television sets.

"Hulu Plus is not a replacement for Hulu.com," said CEO Jason Kilar. "Hulu Plus is a new, revolutionary ad-supported subscription product that is incremental and complementary to the existing Hulu service."

"For almost all of the current broadcast shows on our service, Hulu Plus offers the full season," he added. "Every single episode of the current season will be available, not just a handful of trailing episodes."

The release dates vary for each device. Hulu Plus will launch on PlayStation 3 this July, while Xbox 360 will get it in early 2011. Most compatible televisions will see a fall 2010 release.

"We're incredibly excited to bring Hulu Plus and its amazing library of entertainment to Xbox Live," Microsoft said. "Hulu Plus joins our ever-expanding entertainment offerings on Xbox 360, which currently includes Netflix, Last.fm and Zune Video."

Head over to the official Hulu website to see what shows are currently available, list of devices supported, and how to sign up for a preview invite to the service.
