Now that's an anime that surprised me.
The plot was interesting, but rather basic, and involved a 12 years old boy wanting to become a Hunter to find his father who also happens to be one.
Normally I would have tried it on release, but the childish look of the anime and the fact that the main character fought with a fishing rod kinda put me off.
Turned out I was wrong. I gave it a try a couple of weeks ago and it only took me 5 days to go through the full 125 episodes that were out.
Hunter X Hunter easily makes it in the top 10 anime I've seen (nearly 400), and is definitely worth watching.
