Hurt or fire damage from fireworks?

My local neighborhood firework show is known locally for the lack of safety. I remember one year a neighbor got burns from a rogue firework that came at them.

I have been once when I was doing a challenge with my friends when we were teens to hold a three bang fireworks to blow. Mine nearly burnt my hand.

I never took such risks. My dad warned me seriously about playing with fireworks and I never tried it.

Kids can do a lot of trash that are dangerous. I had that kind of peer group.

Any time we have done fireworks, we have always done them in the garden and they have only been small garden ones which my kids could watch on something like Bonfire Night here in the UK.

I have heard of many injuries and issues though due to fireworks such as them being thrown or them being pushed through letter boxes lit which causes fires in homes.

Most now tend to tape their letter boxes down here now when they know it's Bonfire Night to prevent any issues.

A girl in my neighbourhood had her dress caught fire when a firework was thrown at her. It was a very ugly scene.
