On the Nintendo Treehouse live event today, a new Hyrule Warriors challenge mode was shown off. It was described during the stream as "adventure mode on steroids," with gameplay consisting of endless levels with the goal of completing as many levels as possible. There's no fail-state, either.
Earlier it was announced that the game was getting Day 1 DLC, but in the stream, it was referred to as a "patch" instead.
The challenge mode will come as part of the Day 1 patch to the game. The patch will also include improvements to other features present in the Japanese version, which launched on August 14. Two other changes will be flexibility over music choices in the game, and the availability of new weapons.
