Ok so I have Swapnote because it was free and I don't understand how it works. Like I get messages 3 weeks or so later than when they get here. Like today is October 2nd and I got one from September 15th. Why does it take so long? I mean I don't even know how to use Swapnote as it is, so I hardly use it, but still it's nice to know.

If you consistently receive notes late, you could always manually check for them with the "Check SpotPass" option.

Also, people could be setting the time stamp back to mess with you.

Either way, I have never really experienced this problem, personally, so these are just suggestions.

I do this. ALOT.

It drives people mad. MUWAHAHAHA. Oom.

It is a consistant thing. I can't find the check spotpass option. Where is it?

There is a weird arrow button in the bottom right corner of the touch screen. Tapping that brings up a four option menu. The thing you want is labeled "SpotPass Delivery Check."

..They just really need to make Swapnote pick up notes all the time while the 3DS is online. Someone sent me a note before with doodles of me and them, lol. He sent it right away and I had no idea 'til he told me about the Delivery Check.

The date stamp doesn't keep you from getting it, it just keeps you from opening it, so that isn't the problem. (Also, you can just set the date forward to open it anyways.)

Excuse me, I got 15 letters to open, which what I assume, are all early-birthday letters.

Honestly, this is how it works for me. Within a few seconds of me turning on the wifi switch I get a blue light on Swapnote with a few notes. Pretty much every day. Every now and then one comes in that I assume is late, but I still get notes within a minute of turning on the wifi.

Generally, the servers are REALLY slow, and there's a short delay when sending messages. Also, I think you need to have wireless communications enabled, and all that jazz. What the 3DS actually needs is an IM system.

Theres a website you can use on your 3DS to make an IM chat room called Chatzy.com thats the closes we have for now.

It works great! During MarioKart7 ,after a race online, when they show the players that will be racing, I quickly switch to web browser and say something on chatzy, then I get back to MarioKart7 before the race starts, its so epic lol

What Swapnote should be like is using the pen to type what you want, instead of trying to cooperate with it, getting you bad handwriting.
