my current sansa fuze MP3 player screen is going to crap more daily these days (as in screen get distorted or goes completely white and sometimes freezes.) and no fixes are fixing it. So time to jump ship.

I got all my music files on a SD card, so I need one that can easily transfer the files to (either via PC or the tiny card in the SD card) and one that is slim that can easily fit in pocket and has good volume on it since I listen to mine like a stereo.

anyone know some good MP3 players?

You did not tell the repliers how much you are willing to pay, and how many GBs of storage you need.

I would pick the

Sony Walkman NWZ-E354 8GB Digital Music Player
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003Z3LOMW/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=johsgamsto-20&linkCode=as2&camp=217145&creative=399369&creativeASIN=B003Z3LOMW

since it looks easy to use, and looks nice.

How about

Creative Zen Style 300 8 GB MP3 and Video Player
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003D78O1Y?ie=UTF8&tag=johsgamsto-20&linkCode=xm2&camp=1789&creativeASIN=B003D78O1Y

It has 8GB and looks portable enough to carry around in your pants. It also have "Drag and drop file transfer capabilities", so you can easily copy your files from your SD card to the Creative Zen with Windows Explorer.

this comment kind of puts a scare into me:

I wasn't happy with my Zen Style from the start. Couldn't register, just wouldn't do it. Menu system is foolish. Music quality, just OK.

I lost it. Now I continue to get a message to register, but I no longer have the Zen. My PC is locked up from bootup. The routine to register loops on the PC. It demands I plug in the Zen! Expensive PC now useless to me over a $60 Zen.My Task Manager will no longer open. Unistalled everything Creative, I could find. No luck.

My last Creative product. I have ordered an Ipod, cheaper than the lost productivity of the Zen!

I'll have to haul my Pc to the shop to be sorted out.

BEWARE

what MP3 player do you use frog?

Wow, that comment is scary. I wonder if the registration software has a virus.

I use a Nokia N800 PDA which I got "for free" from my big sister. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B001NJAT6C/ref=as_li_qf_sp_asin_til?tag=johsgamsto-20&camp=0&creative=0&linkCode=as1&creativeASIN=B001NJAT6C&adid=0KHPHCA1NQ25PA5FBNFS

It can play MP3s, browse the web(not very well like the PSP), video chat and other apps. It has built-in speakers and a headphone jack if I choose to use headphones. But, I think it is pretty expensive.

I like that I can connect to wifi to download MP3s from free MP3 download sites
or internet radio sites to listen to music.

I have the Sansa view, I just got it last augest though and I'm going to need to get a new one soon, my rotating volume thingy (like the ipod has) is sticking, I can barely turn up the volume or choose features.

But on the bright side, it has an sd slot, and good music quality, I would turn mine all the way up at night to listen to, really good sound.

I may have dropped mine a few too many times since I'm clumsy like that so it's up to you.
It was 60 dollars off amazon.

I get that now and then, mine also freezes up...I'm just going to deal with it since I need a camera more.

It should come with a clock, alarm clock, and Calender according to the description on Amazon.com

Your lifestyle tool
You can use the ZEN Style 300 as your personal organizer. Whip it out from your pocket to display the time, as a handy alarm clock, or even to view your calendar and contacts.

True, most people don't need an alarm clock since almost everyone own an alarm clock, but you can use the Alarm clock as a cooking Timer, or remind you to do something by setting the alarm to go off at a certain time like if you need to put money in the parking meter, or move your car so it does not get towed during high traffic times.

The Ipod Touch also cost over 229 dollar just for 8GB of space which is expensive. You might as well buy a low-end small Tablet pc or smartphone for that kind of money.

indeed.

anyways, got my zen today. not two seconds out of the casing and I already scuffed it against a plastic edge >_< a little water might get it off.

as for the player it's self, it's pretty good. though the USB is hard to get out of it, and not to mention the USB it's self is only as long as my longest finger.

The sound is good, and the speaker is pretty decent. Until I get use to it, navigation will be rather annoying on this.

Now I need to get a case for this, a cloth case. anyone know a store (not online) that sells cheap MP3 cases? and I'll slap anyone who recommends more then a few dollar costing case.

I use my old one that came with my sansa, but it pulled a houdini on me this week o.0

Sounds like a good sounding MP3 Player. Congrats, on your new MP3 player.

I'm not sure of many offline stores which sells MP3 player cases for a few dollars. You can try Walmart, Target, and Kmart. They usually sells electronics and accessories for a good price.
