Why do you hate the server? I actually like Server although I don't use them much as my Manager who is the network admin as I am Tier 1 I just do Password resets and setup new users on it but I like I am trying gear towards Server Admin in the future.

I disagree, I love them.
If you meaning on the Networking side of things the Servers are bad but as a Server Admin or System Admin Servers are very useful. Honestly I find your role difficult lol like really understanding Switches Routers configuring networking things etc how do you guys Monitor Network I can't understand a thing. You both are sadistic I spent all weekend trying to keep my backup server from pushing up daisies.

Oh yeah I hate Hardware I honestly hope 20 or 10 years from things go to the cloud like it be easier and cheaper to go the cloud then nowOh it has nothing networking to it, I literally mean THE HARDWARE RESTARTING ITSELF FOR NO REASON WITH THINGS GOING CORRUPT!!!!!!
Oh sorry, lost my happy place there for a sec *eye twitches*
But really its all fun and games until the servers start to fail
I’ve done this for 8 years. Is this a home backup server, or work? You both are sadistic I spent all weekend trying to keep my backup server from pushing up daisies.

What do you mean? Also, is this virtual or physical? If it’s virtual, just load up an old snapshot.Work, today is the first day it didn't decide to just restart.
And if its physical your doomed honestly everything should be virtual but Idk why IT has not yet moved to the Cloud fully lolWhat do you mean? Also, is this virtual or physical? If it’s virtual, just load up an old snapshot.

I mean, just because it’s virtual doesn’t mean it’s miles away. If it’s running in something like a Vsphere suite, it’s virtual. You can still have it physically hosted there.Exactly what I typed, got an alert the server went down, no one touched it but some hand of the devil lol.
Physical, I wouldn't cry about something miles away.
Because there is still hardware somewhere but then you have to rely on a internet/bandwith to move 70TB of data around which isn't feasible yet.

You also said “it decided to not restart”, so it reads off like it’s on, but frozen and you can’t reboot it. Not that it wouldn’t start.
Did you do anything on it recently, like updates? If not, it's probably a hardware failure.oss messages me what's up, I repeat the question back at them and I start a long prayer to our lord and savior Todd Howard that it would just work again.

Is this the OS drive or a drive for the backups? No recent updates, memory dump files that I finally went through today indicate possible HDD going bad.

You could try coming it to an SSD. You might get lucky using Sysprep.OS Drive. Though seems to have stabilized for the moment.
