I sincerely hope the 3DS gets some golden gems on it

By gems, I mean those golden little games that are just amazing. Here are a few games I consider to be quality gems on the DS

  1. Hotel Dusk: Room 215
  2. Last Window: The Secret of Cape West
  3. Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney (okay, I just really liked what they did with this one, a personal favourite)
  4. Tetris DS (It was just so damn addictive)

At least that's four games that I can rattle off the top of my head. I hope more games like these are made for the 3DS, and that they aren't pushed over by major 3rd party developers. That's probably a silly worry, but hey.

Any other DS games you can to this list? And I don't want the obvious "Mario Kart DS" or anything, just those DS games that are there, they might not be as popular, but they're still amazing to play.

The list is huge. Off the top of my head, I can think of 999, SMT: Devil Survivor, SMT: Strange Journey, the other Ace Attorney games, Chrono Trigger (I know it's a remake, but still...), Rune Factory (all of them), The World Ends With You, Okamiden, Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes, Avalon Code, and Radiant Historia.

The 3DS seems to have some comparable games in the works (although obviously some of them we don't have a lot to go on at the moment), such as Time Travelers, Fantasy Life, a Persona game, a Shin Megami Tensei game, and an Etrian Odyssey game. And that's just what we know of.

I've heard about those Persona games by Atlus, they sound pretty good. That makes me wonder if we'll see another Trauma Center for 3DS, hah.

And to be honest, I haven't heard of half of those DS games you listed, so now I feel terrible, heh.

I'm the kind of thing that only buys first party games. So unfortunately i never got to play any of those. I played a demo of okamiden from the nintendo channel, and it was quite fun.

The Shine Megami Tensei games and Etrian Odyssey are Atlus' work, as well. They're really putting the work in with the 3DS.
Also, if you have any interest in RPGs and/or anime-style games (needn't be both), I urge you to play the Persona games. If you have a PS2, you should get either Persona 3 FES or Persona 4 (there aren't any story connections, just a cameo and one sidequest, so there's no need to play them in order. I played Persona 4 first myself).

Well, we're getting a 3DS Tetris game, so that's one game from your list you'll be able to enjoy.

We might be getting an Ace Attorney game, there's that crossover between that series and Professor Layton which was supposed to be out soon, dunno if it'll ever leave Japan.

Forget about the other two, the maker, Cing filed for bankruptcy.

Heh, yeah, poor ol' Cing. Kinda sad they died, really, Kyle Hyde was such a hawt character.

And I don't have a PS2, which is where I heard those Persona games were on, so I was a bit disappointed. I will still be on the lookout for those 3DS Atlus games though, they sound pretty good.

Do you have a PSP? Because there's Persona 3 Portable on that (although unless you want to play as a girl, it's not as good as the PS2 version).
But if you don't have a PS2, why not? You can pick them up dirt cheap, and it's the console of choice for Japanese RPGs.

I cant believe ive never played tetris
