I would make a console making company that would make the console all gamers would want, easy to upgrade to keep it current, great controller design, cross platform play, able to customize it in colors and designs.

What would you do if you could run your own gaming company?

I would make Grand Strategy games and Grand Simulation games. I love grand strategy games but feel there aren't enough developers for them. For the simulation games, I feel like current developers don't go far enough in simulating realism or including things that people would actually desire in a Sim game.

I'd have a team make a low budget console with good specs. It'd be a pain getting developers to port their games to the console, btw.

I would make open world action adventure games with maybe a touch of RPG and intense dungeons. Something Zelda esq with a Metroid Prime style world and dificulty. Also a light heartedly dark story (like Skyward Sword) and did I mention huge, nay, epic boss fights!

So like Steam Machines or like a new console every other year...?

Personally, if I made a console company, I would make the most powerful custom (as opposed to x86 crap) hardware out there. It would outperform the PS4 for less money and run Ekunia Fusion.

It would also be a huge laptop with a huge instead of a keyboard, but that's just my lulzy side coming out.

Well, you could Skeith. What's stopping you from it...? Lack of funds?
Everything...? Competition from Steam Machines, lack of required skills, lack of influence, lack of funding...

It's hard to do that sort of stuff.

Lack of funding and lack of talent are the primary impediments for anyone to start a new company.
