InterActive Corp., the company owned by Hollywood heavyweight Barry Diller, is jumping into the gaming business with InstantAction, a service that will be a peer-to-peer based system of delivering games of high-quality over PCs. The goal is to compete with consoles like the 360 and the PS3 by allowing people to download games that were heretofore unavailable online.

We have no idea when InstantAction will go live, or how it will work, but there are already games in development for the service, some in excess of $1million. It will be interesting to see if they can help dredge interest out of what has always been a sort of lagging market.
