What would be your ideal smartphone capacity? For me, I would love to have 500 gb or 1 TB xD

I have 64GB capacity + the internal capacity and I can't even fill 16GB of space. I usally only has photos, videos (very rarely), ms word files and some pdf.

I feel 1TB would be the ideal capacity for me because I can fill up my phone with games, 4K video, and other big files.

I never expected someone to agree with me on this.
People believe that capacity got noting to do with phones and such.
But I watch all my anime using my phone most of the time.

Why do you need a 4k Video on a smartphone
Some highend smartphones have 4K screens, so they can display 4K video which probably look nicer than watching lower resolution on a 4K screen.
It is also possible to plug in a smartphone to a 4K TV with a Micro-HDMI cable or use a wireless wi-fi video streaming device like Chromecast, Apple TV, Roku, etc.
Smartphones can also use for virtual reality, so 4K would make video more realistic and look better.
I think people with slow internet or limited bandwidth like 1 GB of data per month of cell phone data would more likely want a phone with a lot of storage because longer video files like movies, large games, and other files can take a long time to download. Using a PC and USB cable to transfer your file to a phone would be faster, and use no cell phone data bandwidth.

I'm good with 128 GB that I use right now. Phones don't need 1 TB in them, yet.

I think if users plan on emulating many console games and PC Games on a smartphone, 1TB of space would be needed. Some games for the PS2, Wii, and Xbox 360 can be many GB in size. A lot of mobile gamers also use their internal storage drive to record gameplay video because it is easier than setting up their PC to record video and audio from a phone with a HDMI capture device.
A 1TB storage chip may last longer than a 128 GB storage chip because flash memory have a limited number of write cycles like a SSD drive which storage cells can go bad after many write cycles. But, if you have a 1TB storage chip, there would be more storage cells to write on, so a 1TB storage chip may last longer.

I think we can't stop devs from pushing the limits of storage, they'll do it because more people think it'll be cool. It's just inevitable.
It's perfectly possible to stop devs from pushing storage limits actually.
If it's not possible to get passed the limits, they just won't.
Which is how a Nintendo DS game had to work on only 4 MB RAM with no lag at all, while a Nintendo 3DS game could use up to 64 MB RAM, and New Nintendo 3DS game up to 128 MB RAM.
Only after New 3DS came out, developer started exceed 64 MB limit.
My own New 3DS game lags on regular 3DS because Unity already take 60 MB of RAM, so I had only 4 MB RAM left for only game.

Well, I do have a decent bandwidth plan but I don't want to take any chances.
I prefer offline mode in youtube and I believe that explains something. I don't want to wait or restart my phone while watching.

I've never got close to my 32GB capacity. So that is more than enough for me.

I think a large storage phone like 1TB phone is useful for backing up your important files like family photos and videos, important documents like a copy of your homework files, audio and music files to a 1TB phone can be a good idea. Plus, having offline access to all your anime, movies, and music on a smartphone can be useful if the internet on your phone is not working, and you are away from home.
There is always a chance that a robber steals all your important files because they stole all your computers, external hard drives, flash drives and other storage devices which contains your file when you are not home. Your home and your belongings can be destroyed by flooding, fires, tornadoes/wind, and accidents which is sometimes not your fault like someone accidentally crashing an air plane into your home or a gas explosion from a gas delivery truck which explodes outside your home, and also cause your home to catch fire and explode.
Online backup storage can be unreliable if the online storage company suddenly gets shutdown by the government because one of its users, or the company broke the law, and there is always a chance that the company suddenly shutdown without warning, or the owner of the company decides to steal his subscribers money, and shutdown their online storage servers.
Carrying a USB flash drive or hard drive on a bag or purse is not the most safe way to carry your files because robbers steal purses and bags from people because bags can contain thousands of dollars in electronics, money, jewelry, and things.
