Well, we have a thread to discuss what makes us disappointed in a video game. What is your ideal video game? What do your favorite video games have specifically that make them your favorite and why you like them so much?
 
One which has a really engaging story and great gameplay. Such things for me would be the .hack series, Valkriya Chronicles and Spyro games.

I would agree with you statement, D_S. I have to have something with a good enough gameplay so that it will hold my interest. Otherwise, I would get bored with it to easy. I liked the Harry Potter series because I enjoyed the story lines in them. That would be my example.

the original ones ranging from PS1 to PS3?
 
I played those games on Nintendo consoles. I believe the first three games, as well as a Quidditch game, came out on the GameCube. The rest of the games came out on the Wii.
