If you were pushed to make a prediction on who will eventually come out on top between these two giants of the console industry, who would you pick and why? Or do you think that they will remain in this constant power struggle, or maybe another console will come out to trump these two?
Please state your opinion and back it up with some evidence/logic as well
From my standing point, the xbox360 has a nice line-up of games, the online network is more stable, plus gold comes with free releases up until release of the xboxone.
Talking **** about cpu/gpu speeds when it comes to a gaming machine is a non-argument, since they are different platforms with a different architecture.
Both consoles give a similar game-experience and you can barely notice differences in cross-platform games. In the end both are nothing but gaming machines with extra features. For the price difference between the two consoles I can buy a stand-alone blue-ray player.
Only complete fanboy's and little children arguing about who got the better Xmas present are still having this discussion. And you can always buy them both.
I dont actually have a favourite.
I like both for different reasons.
I love the xbox for the multitasking and the exclusive games on the console.
I love the playstation for the graphics and uncharted and last of us.
Its just a preference for you to be honest.
I like Xbox because of many good reasons. The controller is better - I am talking about the Left/Right triggers, and the stick locations. As far as I know, the game servers are better than Playstation servers. I also prefer the Xbox dashboard. As I don't have a Playstation 3, I cannot tell much.
I grew up with the Playstation, therefore it's my favorite, since I never had a Xbox in my life. I have no complains about Playstation, or Xbox, the only thing that bothers me in Playstation is that they overheat and then they're dead forever unless you fix it. I guess Xbox has that problem too. But in the end of the day they are both great platforms, you can't compare one to another, it's like comparing them with the Nintendo Wii. It's completely different.
I think it's going to be a close race between the two, but it's hard to say who's going to end up being the winner. As of right now I realize that Playstation is easily winning in the next gen race when it comes to sales, but it's only been about 7 months since the consoles came out. I do think that in a few years the sales will be pretty close, but I don't think it's going to be a landslide on which side ultimately wins. Everyone has their own preferences in which one they prefer, but all that really matters is whether or not you're happy with your choice as a customer.
I think that the Dreamcast 2 would trump the PS4 and the Xbox One any day. But since Sega is still not that keen at releasing another console, I don't see that happening any time soon. Sigh...
So it's just the PS4 vs the Xbox One. I'd have to go with the PS4. I can't present to you any facts though. All I have is gut-feel. Something tells me that the PS4 would plow through the console war with the Xbox One and the Wii U. I'm very much excited with the exclusives that Sony has lined up. I bet that these exclusives would make gamers purchase PS4s right before holiday season.
I love the Xbox. I love it because I love the windows layout of the menu screen, and the way that you can see everything that you need all at once and get to it quickly. I love the way the graphics look when I'm playing my video games, and I love the controller layout of the Xbox. I especially love that you have the privilege to download two free games each month if you are a gold member, which are top pick games. However, because live membership costs money, I feel that the main reason people would choose PS over Xbox is because of that. The majority of people out there will always choose what costs less, and many people don't really take the time too look at all of the great aspects that the Xbox has over the Playstation.
From the last time I was updated with the numbers, which I admit that was some time ago, I remember that PS was leading significantly, and I think that trend will carry on throughout this whole generation because I think a good amount of Xbox fans got dismayed with MS's E3 presentation last year. I personally don't mind either one of the two winning or if they remain to be equals, even though I'm much more used to PS, but that's just my take on it anyway.
I'd say that the PlayStation will win. Why? Sony managed the launch and post-launch way better than Microsoft. MS tried too much to sell the XBOX One as a complex media device with lots of features that gamers didn't necessarily want (look at Kinect). But as a gamer I wish only the best for both XBox and PS. More games and diversity, plus the competition are great for the gaming scene. All we need is money, to buy all the games we want
I personally prefer the Xbox, but the PlayStation has better features. It seems more expensive to have the Xbox like with Netflix. You can stream it easy and cheaper off a PlayStation.
My entire life I have had a playstation at my bedside. In my honest opinion, the difference between XBox and PS4 is essentially negligible hardware-wise, so any will suffice. That being said, because of my history with the PS, and because there's more games for it, I would predict the PS4 will do the best.
I'm not sure about overall, but with the PS4 vs. Xbox One the PS4 definitely came out on top, it's crushing the Xbox in sales and I don't see that changing any time soon.
I personally feel that both consoles will always have something that is better than the other but the other company will always bring themselves back by releasing something either better or similar to stay in the race. I personally prefer Xbox however I wouldn't say that they will win this console war as even if they released something great Sony would always find a way to come back and may be even come back out on top.
