I'm sick of losing at tough action games. How do I improve reflexes and skills?

I've heard of different ways of gittin' gud, but what do you recommend I try? Any software, exercises, food, etc?

I'm sorry if this isn't helpful, but the only thing that'll help here is to:
A. Continuously play the game you want to get better over and over, since practice is what makes a good player in most cases.
B. Find videos of high level players, and learn tactics and techniques from there. Or use guides, posts on forums, etc.

I can give an example about Counter Strike: Global Offensive. The best way to get better at that game is to keep practicing. You can also watch professional gameplay videos and learn from them.
When I played Chunithm (music game) first time, I'd lose on most basic level too.
But I played every day for 4 months, and now I easily get S ranks on highest difficulty.
Same with Mario Kart (racing game); beaten a lot first time, now I beat almost everyone after lots of playing.
So just keep playing, you'll develop skills and ability to make decisions without thinking in the game naturally.
Watching gameplay videos of others accelerates this too, and from experience I know that it also helps to upload your own gameplay videos.
For both games I got lots of comments like "you're bad at it" and other shameful comments, but that made me more desperate to become better at the games.
The feeling of "I don't want to see such comments ever again" basically.

Calm down, watch some videos to give you tips on what you're stuck on and keep at it till you beat it.

Just enjoy the game and try to win. You will eventually be good at it. Have your own style.
