Instant On Announced

Instant On is a new streaming service that will premier this fall on Xbox 360. It makes 1080p streaming available as well as the ability to watch any movie or TV show on demand. The new service will also include Zune format.

This is separate from the Netflix service that already exists. Microsoft also announced that their old library of movies and shows will be upgraded to the new, higher quality. There is also a new version of Live Party that displays your avatars sitting around a virtual TV watching video content.

I think this will overshadow netflix

I think this will cause a rise in Xbox Sales, but Streaming 1080P content might be kind of slow for people on slower connections.
