It sounds crazy, but it’s true: Arch-rivals AMD and Intel have teamed up to co-design an Intel Core microprocessor with a custom AMD Radeon graphics core inside the processor package, aimed at bringing top-tier gaming to thin-and-light notebook PCs.

Executives from both AMD and Intel told PCWorld that the combined AMD-Intel chip will be an “evolution” of Intel’s 8th-generation, H-series Core chips, with the ability to power-manage the entire module to preserve battery life. It’s scheduled to ship as early as the first quarter of 2018.

Being honest, I really think that it a silly idea, and as someone pointed out on a different forum we could have 3 graphic drivers to update on a laptop.

The price on that will be crazy as well. Can't believe its happening though, next you'll see Sony and MS making a game console together :p

I think this will not be a good deal for the buyer, and they may end up paying more money for stuff they don't need.

Buying a laptop with a standalone CPU, AMD CPU with Integrated AMD graphics like AMD APU A8 CPU, or a separate/discrete video card would be a better deal.
