In a statement, Intel said it cut its first quarter outlook because of "weaker than expected demand for business desktop PCs and lower than expected inventory levels across the PC supply chain."

One reason the chip giant cited for that weaker demand: a slowdown in companies upgrading from Windows XP systems. What's particularly interesting about this is that the move away from the ancient OS helped drive some of Intel's better results in 2014.

Windows XP seems like the Windows OS which keeps on being used. I bet, XP will still be used by many when Windows 10 is released.

I really wish I was good at coding, I would come out with some XP version that would run as good as windows 10 and make a nice mint off of it.

Eww, I haven't used XP since 2008. Come on, seriously, how difficult is it to upgrade to Windows 8.1? It's not that expensive. Those companies are just lazy. You have to keep up with the times if you want to be productive.
it's a bit more complicated than that, when you upgrade, your normal perfectly working system will go to shit and give you problems for weeks. Sometimes its better to not upgrade at all.

There is a lot of software like older versions of MS Office, Adobe Photoshop, and hardware drivers which still does not work with Windows Vista, 7, and 8/8.1 since the software was never updated to work with Windows Vista, 7, 8.1.

A lot of older printers, scanners, USB microphones and internal computer parts like video cards, and sound cards do not work on newer versions of Windows.

Some users may still be using Windows XP on a PC with a 1GHz CPU, 512MB of RAM, 20GB hard drive, and old video card which are too slow for all newer versions of Windows.
