At GDC 2013, Intel announced that their next-gen Haswell graphics will support a new bit of tech called PixelSync as well as DirectX 11.1. PixelSync on Hawell graphics enables two rendering techniques called ASVM and AOIT which can cost a standard GPU up to 80% of it's performance but runs smoothly with Haswell's integrated graphics. The developers behind Grid 2 and Total War are using Haswell's new tech to bring graphically rich games to the masses.
The Intel Haswell integrated graphics look pretty good for integrated graphics.

Hopefully, Intel Haswell Integrated Graphics work on  the free Ununtu Linux OS to play Steam on Linux games in Ubuntu Linux , so more gamers can play PC games on Steam without being forced to buy a copy of Windows to play Steam games.

I'm also  guessing  Intel improve its graphics on its new Haswell CPU to compete with the AMD APU which are found on many inexpensive gaming computers, and future consoles like the PS4.
