We are a bit speculating here, but we have a very good reason to believe that Microsoft's new browser will launch during festivities held at SXSW on March 14.

We are a bit speculating here, but we have a very good reason to believe that Microsoft's new browser will launch during festivities held at SXSW on March 14.

Microsoft sent out invitations to select journalists last week and invited bloggers to participate in the event that will "celebrate the beauty of the web." It's not just the event, it is also the fact that Microsoft's advertising team has been extremely busy and has been, as we hear, scouring the web for favorable quotes to be used in the launch campaign.

Also, March 14 would be just about one year after the introduction of the first Platform Preview of IE9 and we remember that Microsoft also used about one year to take the development of IE8 from start to finish. While we have no official confirmation we feel confident to say that the launch of the browser is imminent and will, most likely, take place on March 14.

In the meantime, we enjoy listening to a battle of words between Mozilla's Paul Rouget, who recently claimed that IE9 is an old browser. Microsoft's Tim Sneath responded by lecturing Mozilla how a modern browser should really look like.

Despite having massive support for HTML5 and CSS3, I think IE9 is still going to be a bloated browser (admittedly I haven't used the beta yet) but it seems a little too late for Microsoft. People won't give it a chance that have changed browsers, and they would really have to make leaps to get the market dominance they once had

still going to be fail, it can never top firefox.

I wonder if MS will force/nag people who run Windows Vista and 7 to upgrade to IE 9 like how most WinXP users need to upgrade to IE 7 or 8, or their computer is more easily infected by viruses since IE 6 is not a safe web browser to use or have installed on a PC.

Well if you don't use internet explorer at all you are going to be safer on the internet, and people have realized that. They definitely won't force them into it, nor do I think they will really nag them.

If a lot of user use a computer like a library computer then upgrading to a more safer and newer version of IE will be a good idea since there are a lot of people who use Internet Explorer, and don't know that Fire Fox and alternative browsers exist, or how to use them.

Plus, there are still occasions that some websites look bad in Firefox, and Chrome, but look better in IE.

I got a feeling Windows Update might remind users to update to the latest version of IE 9 on a daily basis by saying they have new updates for their Operating System like how MS Office uses Windows Updates to tell people to install updates for Office.

I read online that Internet Explorer 9 Release Candidate displays websites better, and is a less bloated browser then Internet Explorer 8. Might as well, upgrade to Internet Explorer 9 since users can't uninstall Internet Explorer on Windows, so you might as well install the safest, less-bloated, and fastest version of IE.

I might update to IE 9 since I want to know if it is better or worse then previous versions like IE 6-8 which were slow.

But, I still use Google Chrome as my main web browser.
