I think they were expecting the Xbox One to drop for $400 and when the Xbox announced for $500 they all breathed a sigh of relief. Having that $100 difference is really what is going to push sales for the people that don't watch these conferences.

After seeing the reaction to the used games announcement at the Sony conference I think publishers are going to be very hesitant to add any used games restrictions because not having them really seems to cut off a huge chunk of players.

I really like how Sony is at least being sort of honest when it comes to their policies. I think that by being open with it they are going to see a lot of good press when they release their information.

I hope that you're right about this. I tend to buy most games used. If they do add used games restrictions, then I hope they'll make it cheaper to compensate, but it seems unlikely since it'll be standard on the XBox One. I got the feeling that he would have preferred to gloss over that it isn't completely DRM-free though, since the publishers can decide to add it.
