Invincible Season 4 has been confirmed. After the exciting events of the third season, fans of the animated version of the comic book can expect the upcoming season to pick up with Mark Grayson’s story.

The show’s creators and streaming service have made it clear that there will be more episodes. Fans of Invincible who watched all three seasons on Amazon Prime Video will be happy to hear this.

Renewal before the third season even aired

Fans couldn’t even finish the last season before Amazon Studios gave the go-ahead for season 4. The platform’s early announcement shows how much they trust the show.

  • Season 4 confirmation date: July 2024
  • Platform: Amazon Prime Video
  • Creator: Robert Kirkman
  • Source: Image Comics
  • Studio: Amazon Studios

Kirkman’s goal is to release one season each year

  • Regular goal: One season a year
  • Season 4 and 5: In production at the same time
  • Focus: Avoid waiting too long.
  • Based on feedback: Kirkman wants to speed things up for the next season.

Yes, there will be a fifth season of Invincible. Prime Video confirmed that the show will be renewed early, which shows a strong commitment to adapting more Image Comics stories. The announcement came before the season 4 release date for Invincible had even been set. This shows how popular and well-reviewed the show is.

Strong viewership and acclaim secured the renewal

The third season of Invincible was Prime Video’s most popular adult animated show to date, and it got good reviews on many sites, including Rotten Tomatoes.

  • Critical reception: Good reviews on Rotten Tomatoes
  • Audience size: Most-watched animation on Prime Video
  • Awards: Emmy-nominated
  • Announcement date: July 2025

New cast additions and future direction

Actor Matthew Rhys joins the voice cast. This should mean that the story will change in later seasons. Robert Kirkman, who created the show, is still focused on faithfully adapting the source material while making it better for TV.

  • New cast: Matthew Rhys
  • Returning roles: Seth Rogen, Clancy Brown, Cecil Stedman, Omni Man
  • Showrunners: Kirkman, Ryan Ottley, Amazon Studios

You heard that right. Thragg will finally make his long-awaited debut in season 4 of Invincible. This character is a major bad guy in the comics. They rule the Viltrum Empire, which leads to the final climactic event, the Viltrumite War.

Robin Williams, the show’s creator, confirmed that Thragg has been cast and will be in the fourth season. When he gets there, Mark Grayson will have to fight his hardest battle yet.

Thragg’s casting confirmed by Robert Kirkman

Fans were reassured by Kirkman’s confirmation of the casting in July that Thragg would be introduced correctly. Kirkman hinted that the voice actor is “amazing,” but didn’t say who it was.

  • Character role: Leader of the Viltrum Empire
  • Confirmation date: July, after the end of the last season
  • Casting update: Voice actor picked, but not yet made public
  • Creator’s comment: “He’s been cast, and he’s amazing.”
  • Fan theories: Fans thought about Jon Bernthal and Ron Perlman

Season 4 dives deeper into the Viltrumite War

The story will pick up after the Invincible War arc in the comics and go into more detail about Mark’s fights with certain characters like Thragg and Omni-Man. It is planned that the fourth season will adapt comic book stories up to issue #65.

  • Story arc: Pay attention to the Viltrumite War.
  • Returning threats: Omni-Man, Mauler Twins
  • Timeline: After the events of the previous season
  • Series tone: More violence and higher emotional stakes
  • Expectations: Major battle scenes with Mark Grayson and Thragg

I'm happy to hear that we'll be getting another season! I never read the comics but I really should lol. It'd be cool to see how different the comics are compared to the show and what's the same.
