I recently got myself a job and at this job I can bring in a Ipod to listen to music while I work. Problem is I don't got a Ipod but I plan on getting one soon and would like to have some advice on getting one as I am sure there are tons of different ipods out there to get.

so if you got any pointers or recommendations let me know.

Congrats on finding a job.

Are you only interested in the Apple I-pod, and not interested in any other brand of MP3 player like Creative, Sony, Panasonic, Microsoft ?

I never owned an I-pod, but owned other MP3 player brands. I recommend a MP3 player that uses flash memory since they're smaller, and don't have any moving parts like a Hard drive based player. The battery life is usually better, and generate less heat. They are usually cheaper, too. But, the one draw back is flash Memory Mp3 players do not have as much disk space. The biggest flash based MP3 player I saw is 16 GB of space. They are also easier to lose because of their small size.

Hard drive MP3 players are good for people who listen to a lot of music like 20GB or more at once. They usually have biggers screens, and buttons compared to flash mp3 players.

What I read online the I-pod touch is a MP3 player that can be used for gaming, listening to music, going online by using wireless internet, viewing pictures and watching video. It uses flash memory. It is basicly an Iphone without the Cell phone capabilities.

The latest Nano can be used to view pictures, video, take pictures, and video.

The Shuffle has no LCD and it is just used to listen to music, but it is very small, so it is good for jogging.

The PSP GO might be a good alternative to the Ipod. It has 16 GB of memory, can go online, play games, listen to music, view photos, watch videos and it's price is competitive with the most expensive Ipod touch that is the 16 GB version for $216+ dollars. Plus, you can add an extra 16GB SD micro card making your total space up to 32 GB.

The Sandisk Fuze is reasonably price and can hold 8GB of music. It has decent reviews on Newegg.

The Ipod shuffle is the cheapest of the ipod series, but lacks an LCD screen, so you don't know what is playing, sadly. http://www.frys.com/product/5872203?site=s...CH:MAIN_RSLT_PG

The Ipod Nano is the second cheapest at http://www.frys.com/product/6034908?site=s...CH:MAIN_RSLT_PG

You can get the SanDisk Sansa Clip which is also 4GB, but costs 49.99, but it does not look as user friendly, enjoyable, and durable as the SanDisk SansaFuze, and other comparable MP3 player.

Sony Walkman NWZ-E436FRED 4GB MP3 Player - 2.0" QVGA Screen, H.264, AVC, WMV, FM Tuner, Red might be a good deal at $59.99 1 year warranty on parts and labor.

A person in her review claimed her grand son soaked it in the water by accident, and let it dry for a week and it works when the MP3 player is dry. Sony also make good head phones. I had a pair that lasted for years.

I personally will get the Sony since it looks cooler, and only cost 10 dollars more.

I don't really trust many of the Mp3 players that usually costs $10-40 dollars since they look cheaply made, difficult to use, and has a bad warranty.
