Hello. I'm getting a Diamond Multimedia VC500 capture card, used by NintendoCapriSun, it can get up to 480p, which is fine by me, considering I won't be recording off an HDTV anyway. I just wanted your opinion, is 480p good for recording Nintendo games, such as Twilight Princess, Super Mario Sunshine, ect?
Anything above it doesn't really make a difference for older games, so it should be fine. I have the VC500, and while it's great for people who just want to record cheap, I wouldn't suggest it in the long run. I've had a lot of problems with mine. I'll be getting an El Gato soon.
480p is the highest standard definition that you can get. It's great for games pre-Wii U! If you boost the resolution any more, it gets all grainy and what not trying to make it look better. It's like trying to play N64 on a 61" HDTV. (It's really hard to do)
