Is it a good idea only to have a cell phone, and not a land line home phone?

I think a land-line phone is still pretty useful since cell phones break and get lost or stolen easily, and not having a phone until you replace your cell phone can be dangerous if you fell down the stairs, and need to crawl or walk with your hands to a land-line phone to phone for an ambulence to rescue you.

Plus, most land-line phones always have power, or your cordless phone is usually fully charged since it is always charging when you are not using it.

You can also use Dial-up internet with a regular telephone line if you really need to be online, and your cable and DSL internet is not working. I think there are pre-paid dial-up internet gift cards that you can buy to get online easily by using the prepeid card like long distance prepaid cards.

My landline is also internet based, but it cost money, and it uses its own internet connection and modem instead of the regular modem and cable.

However, it is cheaper then the old fashion telephone lines.

depends if you always need to be in touch via phone. Though I do believe in another 50 years, the land line will be dead.

I like having a land line and a cell so I can call home in case I need to talk to my g/f while I'm out.
