It has always been a situation where the man is the one that express feelings to a lady that he is interested in. Do you think that it is no big deal for a lady that likes a man to show up and express her feelings to the man?

Is not awkward for a lady to express her feelings towards a guy just that African culture allows the guys to express feelings to a lady than the other way round.

I don't think it is all about Africa. Maybe it is because of culture in some places.

God I wish a woman would express herself to me, make my job easier.

We live in a society where we like the man to be the one to express feelings first. While I'm old-school & have no problem, me as a female, expressing feelings to a man, I know I would appreciate it if it was shown first. But I've also been married a long time & I hold onto old-fashioned ideals. Just like I like the door being held open for me :)

Most women would like the man to make the move first. I guess that is more like how it should be.

I feel it can be awkward for many people for a lady to express her feelings to a man first because a lot of movies, tv shows, novels, dating advice, and people say a man usually express his feelings to a lady first instead of a lady expressing their feelings to a man first.

Well, it depends on how well she knows the guy.....

If you don't know the person at all, then I would say "yes". If you know the guy, then I would say "no" (or at least probably not).

I've had that before, it's a nice feeling knowing a lady loves you and is bold enough to tell you. There's nothing wrong with it, it's only how some men react to it that makes ladies back out from doing it.

There's nothing awkward about it, feelings are feelings, gender should be immaterial. It is ironic that custom dictates the traditionally more stoic gender express their feelings first, lol.

I agree, there's nothing awkward about it. As a matter of fact, I was impressed when a lady told me her feelings. She's got the balls of a man.
