Yes, I think it is easier to replace the charging cable on most tablets which uses micro-usb, mini-usb, or full-size usb cables since you can get most of those USB cables at Bestbuy, Amazon, or even a super market sometimes for a few dollars.

The power adapters for tablets also seem to use power adapters with USB plugs for plugging in the USB cable to charge. Some tablets also may let you use your computer's USB ports to charge.

If you own an Apple Tablet, going into the Apple store, or almost any store which sells apple products will have charging, and power adapters for Apple iPads.

Finding power adapters for laptops can be hard because few stores sell them, and there are so many models and brands of laptops which use different plugs and power bricks.

Can't say, but if they use the same type then I guess so.

I saw a few power bars and home outlet with full size USB ports for charging MP3 players, but I'm not sure if the maker of the power bars and home outlet with USB ports made them powerful enough to charge a tablet.

I can see pretty soon in the future, we just need to plug in tablets into a power bar or outlet to charge them, so all we need is a USB cable.

Hm... It's never been difficult for me to find a power adapter for a laptop. (I just order it online.) You can't beat going to a radio shack and just picking up a cable though for a tablet though.

I think there are some cases for the iPad which may have a built-in or retractable USB charging cable, or you can charge the case in advance to use the power stored in the cases battery to charge an iPad's battery by turning on the cases battery switch to ON.

An iPad charging case can be use to charge an iPad when you use it by a Window, bright lights or outdoors, so if you are not a heavy ipad user, you don't need to physically plug the charging adapter into the wall, and use free energy from the sun, and other light sources which are on.

I expect more popular Android Tablets like the Kindle Fire, and Nexus 7 also have solar, and battery powered charging cases.

Interesting that GPS can now charge tablets.

I guest newer cars and trucks also have charging cables, and plugs for charging phones and tablets as well, or the car dealer has accessories for the car for charging gadgets as well.

Indeed, there are many options for charging tablets. Newer tablets and charging cases/backs also can charge by placing the back of the tabley on a conductive charging pad which gets power from the wall.

A lot of laptops like Ultrabooks like the Macbook Air, and some Netbooks have batteries which are as difficult to change as tablets since you need to open up the laptop to change the battery because it is not external.

It probably be easier to find and buy a battery for a reasonable price for an iPad 1 vs a generic Ultrabook or laptop made many years a go because many companies probably discontinue making batteries for older laptops which are not popular compared to the iPad 1-2 which are still hugely popular, and the Apple store still replaces the battery , or you can take a risk and hire someone from Craigslist, or local electronic stores to replace your battery.

The Toshiba Thrive have a removable battery, and I'm sure if you put up an ad on Craigslist in your neighborhood someone with the skills will be able to change the battery for you for under $50.

But, a lot of generic tablets have warranties, so you can send it back if your battery won't charge before the warranty ends.

It may not be worth changing the battery since when the battery breaks, you can probably get a better tablet with a newer operating system, and better and faster parts like a dual-core CPU, 1GB of RAM, and 3D video graphics at Amazon for $99 or less.

I think most people who buy tablets just replace them because they are afraid other parts like the screen, speakers, and buttons will break after the battery breaks.

It may be practical if it was a more expensive tablet with a bigger screen, or you needed to get files off the tablet, but can't because the battery is broken.

People who fix tablets need money as well for food and they don't get many costumers since few people fix low-end tablets, electronics, or even computers, tvs and laptops these days because they are so cheap to replace because of cheaper Chinese branded electronics where it cost less to buy them than to fix them most of the times.

When I have conversations with people, few people say they fix their electronics because they just go out and buy a cheaper electronics from China.

Indeed, expanding services like doing some web design, helping someone install a WordPress Theme, and a few plug-ins, and maybe even tutoring people on how to use Apps, programs like Photoshop, and MS Word can help earn more money instead of charging so much for repairs.

Selling stuff instead of just doing repairs can help out with paying land tax, food, and electricity.

I'm actually in the process of opening my own store. It will basically be a DVD renting/selling store where I will also sell stuff like games and consoles, manga, magazines, print pages, make photocopies and a bunch of other stuff. The only issue is finding a commercial space that is big enough in the area I want it to be.
