It can be hard to make enough money to just pay for your internet bill and electricity your PC uses if you don't know how to get started, but if you use eBay or Amazon to sell some of your old stuff online, or make paid website templates, apps, online videos, ebooks, write articles for blogs, computer programs to sell then making enough money to pay for the internet bill and the electricity bill is not very hard.
Plus, there are plenty of people who pay money for links if your website is popular.
Indeed, a degree will make enough money for almost everything in the future unless you invented something a lot of people will use in the future Windows, Apple Mac which the owners never finish their degrees, but made a lot of money in a short amount of time.
If Bill Gates and Steve Jobs stayed in college, and work at an office job, the world will be a very different place since we might be still using the command prompt/lines for using computers since visual operating systems like Windows, and Mac did not exist back in the 80s, and most OS where command line based, and used for scientific and basic office work, but not for common users. Many experts in the past used to believe PCs where too expensive for the common person, and only places like NASA would need computers.
Bill Gates and Steve Jobs might be making command line programs for command line companies instead of visual programs which most people used today on their PC if Windows and Mac never existed.
It also might take a lot longer if the guy is lazy, or don't know how to promote his invention like an operating system to the public to convince them it is worth buying them like how Sega failed at promoting their Dreamcast, and the Playstation and N64 won the race.
We also might be dead before our time to see computers if no one invented them for the average users like the Ancient Romans, Egyptions, Samurai, etc which mostly relied on tools and weapons like swords, and scrolls.
For example, we might be still be using Candles, and lanterns if Edison never invented electricity or the light bulb, and we had to wait for someone smart to invent them, or invent them ourselves if we are smart enough which few people are smart enough to invent lightbulbs and power back in the very old days.
Indeed, it would be better for the people who died by accidentally being electrocuted by stepping on a electric wire which fallen on the ground from a electric street pole, or jumping in water which is electrocuted by a fallen wire.
I also think the rest of us will just wake up and sleep earlier when the sun goes down since candles, and oil are not very bright, and can be a hassle to light and blow off every night.
