Do you guys think it is too late to pick up pokemon black/white with the sequel coming along now. The reason I never got it was because I sort of gave up on the series when they came out. Recently I have gotten back into it again and I am wondering if it is too late and if I should just wait for Pokemon Black 2/White 2 come out? Thoughts??

I'd say it's not too late, but probably not worth it. I felt it was extremely bored and repetitive in how they handled rival battles always before/after a gym battle, and having to complete a task to go in a gym.

The question doesn't make sense.. it's like saying should I get Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, if Call of Duty: Black Ops II is coming out (on November 13, 2012)

Considering the two installments are completely different from each other (different areas, gym leaders and presumably elite four, story, etc), it's definitely not too late to buy Pokemon Black or Pokemon White even with the sequels coming out.

Get Black and/or White. I believe the story in Black 2 and White 2 continue from Black and White and if you don't play one of those, you'll be confused. Unless there's a recap, but who knows?
Maybe there's a recap, and if you have B/W registered on your DS somehow, you get some extra content
