What do you think about knowing too much about a lot of things? Is it something that is an advantage or a disadvantage to the person involved?

I think Knowledge is Power but what you do with that knowledge is the most important thing.
There are some people who are know-it-alls yet have no social skills & treat others who don't know like crap.

I believe the term 'know it all' is a thing.

I think as long as the knowledge was legally obtained like buying a book, it would be an advantage to a person and society.

But, if a robber steals knowledge like stealing a book from a bookstore or photocopying a book without permission, it would be a disadvantage because the bookstore will be losing money from book theft, and the store may not earn enough to pay its staff and utility bills if too many robber steal their books.

Hard to say the conclusion.
About philosophy, knowing too much but without a very understanding may drive a guy mad.
In China, there is a saying, 'Learning without thought is labor lost; thought without learning is perilous.'

Thhhiiiiiissssss!

I know one such person who is a know-it-all and it's really annoying being around him. He happens to be one of my hubby's friends. I don't prevent my hubby from hanging out with him if he wants but I typically will hide in the bedroom when particular friend comes over. My hubby knows I'm hiding to get away from them because he's asked me about it and I've told him why. I don't know if the friend knows or not......he hasn't said anything.

Knowing too much is something. But keep in mind people are human and they might misinform themselves about how or why they do certain things with the information they have.

This guy must be the one like showing off, I think. Or he just wants to be looked like a 'know-it-all' man so that he can show off.

There's is no amount of knowledge which can be categorised as too much. Knowledge is vast and unending. I would like to know 20x more than what I knew yesterday. The more you know something, is the more you're empowered.
