Is netflix, hulu, youtube making DVR like Tivo less popular?

Yes, some people probably rather pay 8 dollars a month for unlimited TV shows streaming from Netflix, Hulu, or for free then set their DVR to record shows at a certain time.
 
depends which one offers content the consumers want.
 
I agree, but a DVR offers no content if you are not subscribe to Cable or don't use an Antannae to watch free TV while Netflix, Hulu, YouTube, iTunes, and many other video streaming/downloading services offer content for 8 dollars more or less a month or for free, and DVRs can cost hundreds of dollars which is like a 1-2+ years worth of subscriptions to Netflix, Hulu or hundreds of hours worth of paid download videos on Amazon Prime, iTunes, etc.
