Is Retro Studios working on a Star Fox and Metroid crossover?

Nintendo sees Retro Studios as a very competent developer and worked with them in creating the hybrid title of Star Fox – Metroid: Fusion Saga.

I have no words.

Metroid gameplay meets Star Fox aerial combat gameplay? No online multiplayer mentioned unfortunately, but if this ever turns out to be true, the reaction online would be ridiculous.

What do you think? Is Retro Studios working on a Metroid meets Star Fox game for Wii U?

That would be amazing, if it turned out good....it's just, this dosnt seem really believeable....
I just can't see this being a true, and real project...of course I could be wrong, but this is just a rumour, right?

Might be pretty cool, and it would work pretty well. Starfox is futuristic with laserguns and such, Metroid is futuristic with laserguns, bombs and such. The only major difference is the animals..
