The new 40Gig PlayStation 3 is making a world tour. Last week, the European release of the different, less-expensive PS3 was announced, and today, Japan is getting a 40 Gig PlayStation 3.
The console will be available on November 11th, and will come in two different colors: White and Black.
Sony is also dropping the price of the current 20 Gig and 60 Gig models in Japan, too. Starting October 17th, the 20 Gig model will drop in price from 49,980 yen to 44,980 yen. The 60 Gig model will be cost 54,980 yen. That';s a savings of nearly 50 bucks.
To promote sales, Sony will give high-definition Blu-ray discs of the movie Spider-Man 3 to the first 200,000 buyers of the PlayStation 3, which can play films based on the format.
