Somedays, you go looking for the good, weird news, and some days the Japanese Squid virus comes to right to you.
Police in Japan have arrested Masato Nakatsuji for creating, and unleashing upon an unsuspecting world, sheer terror in the form of the Japanese Squid Virus – a computer virus that wipes out the files in the targeted computer, and in their place, leaves pictures (home made in Nakatsuji’s cyber-laboratory) of squid. Lots and lots of squid. Also, octopi and sea urchin pictures, again _ all home made.
Police estimate as many as 50,000 computers may have been infected with the Ika-tako (“squid/octopus) virus. Most of the computers infected were done so through file- and music file-sharing sites. Once the virus is downloaded, it ravages the targeted computer’s hard-drive, consuming each file and excreting a sea-life picture, done in the animae style, we are led to understand. Let’s, just for artist’s sake, point out that this virus came through while people were illegally downloading and sharing music without compensating the artists. That’s called “karma,” fyi…
Wait- The Japanese Squid Virus isn’t that Animae-porn with horrible octo-things with bifurcated penises is it? Ewww! Ewwwwww….. I really hope not. I was just about to like this guy.
Now, it has to be said that Masato is not really qualified to use the “genius” part of “evil genius” in his bio. The malware creator was arrested once before, after making a virus that did the same thing as the Japanese Squid Virus, except it used images from a popular animae program. Therefore, Nakatsuji was arrested for copyright infringement. He even said, he did not think he would be arrested a second time, since the squid images, he did himself. It should be pointed out in his defense that no squid, octopi or urchins were hurt in the making of this virus.
And he’s right. This time police arrested him for “property destruction.”
See, Matty-boy, it’s not the artwork that’s the problem, it’s the fact that your Japanese Squid Virus is f***ing up other people’s computers that… oh never mind. It’s hard to talk to a “genius.”

This is one of the reasons I try to back up my files quickly after saving or downloading them since I still have a copy if I got infected by a virus which deletes your files.
