Reno, NV, July 14, 2008: 3G Studios, Inc. confirms that it is currently in development on the soon to be released title Jillian Michaels' Fitness Ultimatum 2009 for the Nintendo Wiiâ„¢. The game is set to incorporate both the Wii Remoteâ„¢ and the Wii Balance Boardâ„¢ utilizing some of their unique features to help players get in shape and have fun while doing so.
Jillian Michaels, a fan favorite of NBC's Biggest Loser, guides players through a virtual fitness boot camp offering informational and motivational video tips on fitness, nutrition, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle along the way. The game features 11 different motion-based activities incorporating four main workout types: Weight Loss, Strength Training, Interval and Hill Climb, all customizable according to the player's desired level of intensity and duration of their workout. And, since most people have realized it's easier to work out with a friend, the game also features a multiplayer mode so players are able to test their skills with friends and family in individual activities or go head-to-head through the entire training course competing for record times.
All of the game's activities are capable of being played with or without the Wii Balance Boardâ„¢; although integrating the Wii Balance Boardâ„¢ will offer players a much better workout. Some of the unique activities include:
• Boxing: Players begin in a fighting stance and are directed kick and punch the heavy bag in front of them with left or right punches and left or right kicks at varying heights. Speed and intensity are key in completing this challenge.
• Handcar Pump: Recruits must move their handcar along the railroad tracks using their arms, legs, or both for maximum power. They'll have to watch out for the objects that lay on the tracks, leaning to either side to avoid hitting them. Recruits will also need to periodically work harder in order to make it up approaching hills on the tracks. This activity is sure to give a great workout.
• Cannon Attack: Players will need to equip their cannon with the nearby cannonballs by performing a series of deadlift exercises and then, using the Wii Remotes or the Balance Board, aim the cannon to hit the targets ahead. Players will undoubtedly "feel the burn" in this activity.
• Punching Bag Dodge: Recruits will have to run though a course dodging the punching bags that are swinging from the trees at various angles, lean from side to side and duck down low to make it though safely. A great challenge designed to increase core strength.
