A Judge in Wisconsin banned a 17-year-old from playing video games after he was arrested and charged with assaulting his mother when she unplugged his PlayStation 3. So, this kind of thing doesn't happen just with Xbox 360 players, just sayin'.

The Racine Journal Times, according to WISN-TV in the video below, reported that Jeffrey Ehlers, 17, was cussin' out the game console on Sunday "because he was losing," at an unspecified game. (However, props to local news for specifying PlayStation 3!) When he wouldn't heed his mother's demands to calm down, she pulled the plug on the console.

The outcome was similar to another conflict between a mom and a floppy-haired teen with a DGAF expression in his booking photo. Ehlers attacked his mom, said cops, who were called to the home.
If convicted, Ehlers could face up to 90 days in the slammer.

I like to see someone ban me from games, but for what this kid did he should never game again.

I wonder if his bans also include smartphone and tablet games which can be considered video games, but played on a smartphone and tablet.

I bet he just secretly play games on PC when no one is looking.

@DS - I ban you from playing video games, >_>

Anyway, you learn something new everyday. I never knew Judges could ban you from playing video games.

The court can put a webcam on the teen by asking him to wear a hat with a webcam in it to enforce the rule by seeing what the kid is looking at to make sure he isn't playing games.

Spy Glasses with a webcam in it would also work at monitoring what he is doing.

Some people seriously take it way too far. Usually the parents let it get this bad to begin with though.

They might be able to enforce the ban by removing all his game consoles...

But in terms of mobile phones? Might be harder. I suppose they could give him a burner phone rather than a smartphone. (Something that can make calls and text but anything more than that is pretty much out.)

Other than that it'd be up to his parents to help enforce the ban and him to be honest about it.

I wonder who would pay his lawyer and court fees, or does he get a free lawyer from the government?

I think if he has to hire his own lawyer, and does not have much money to hire one then he may have not many choices to make money, but to sell his belongings like game consoles, games, and anything with value which he can quickly sell since it maybe difficult for him to find a job since employers may not want to hire someone who assaulted their mother.

Plus, his friends may not let him come over to their house to play their consoles since few people want to friends with a guy who hits his mother.

He is also famous now for hitting his mother because it is probably posted all around the internet and his local news that he hits his mother.
