A judge sentenced Lindsay Lohan on Tuesday to 90 days in jail and an inpatient rehab program after finding the actress had violated the terms of her probation in a 2007 drug case.

The actress immediately burst into tears after the ruling.

Superior Court Judge Marsha Revel issued the sentence after listening to testimony from employees of an alcohol treatment program that Lohan had been ordered to attend.

Lohan missed seven classes since December, which led to the judge's harsh rebuke of Lohan moments after the "Mean Girls" star offered a tearful apology.

"I did do everything I was told to do and did the best I could to balance jobs and showing up," Lohan told the judge. "It wasn't vacation, it wasn't some sort of a joke."

this makes me smile for some reason :)

Hallelujah.

It's kind of sad how Lindsey turned out since she used to be in decent movies like "Mean girls", Herby: Fully loaded, etc. I doubt she serve the entire time because she has the money and hired a new lawyer according Perez Hilton's blog or she get out on "good behavior" which some people do get out for if they behave them self in jail. I can't really see Lindsey misbehaving since the other inmates probably are more tougher and hardened criminals, so it would be scary. There is also a possibility of her getting out on Mental problems like Paris Hilton who only serve a few days in jail.

I can understand why celebs need to be seperated since I can see how some inmates want to beat up celebs for being celebs or out of jealousy for having more money, fame, or stuff.

But, it is kind of unfair for celebs for getting special treatments since they just are alone, and don't have to deal with the problem of being in a fight with a stronger inmate or having threats shouted to them on a daily basis like the rest of the jail's population.

I also saw on Spike TV that whitecollar inmates tend to get special treatment as well like TV, better beds, and food.

The fact that they get special treatment in the first place is exactly the reason why so many celebs don't have respect for the law as it is already. Otherwise, if they were treated as though they were any other person, then they probably wouldn't be repeat offenders. The inmates wouldn't be so stupid as to try something with the celeb.

The problem here lies with the fact that the majority of people, inside and out, are starstruck when it comes to celebs. They act as though the celebs are deities.. who can pull a miracle out of their ass.. and in anticipation for a favor, they give these people special treatment.
