It's a new month so that means another video game contest, since E3 is this month the winner will receive any E3 2013 announced game (upon it's release date.) or they can select The Last of us.

Keep in mind depending on your living area you may need to opt out for taking the cash via paypal due to region locking.

The theme for the June contest is reputation (rep)/ best answergathering.


To the right of posts made in topics is a green arrow which you can press to increase the other person's rep. Rep should only be given when a person has made a well detailed, unique or great post. Rep should not be given if the person's post is bland, weak or just a few words.

I realize this puts control who wins in other people's hands, but if you make great posts staff and neutral members will give you good amount of rep and give you a chance to win.

You can find your current rep points under the GF extra's tab. Post your current amount here to enter. If your current rep is between 0-10, you start out 1 point ahead, if it's between 11-20, you start with 2 points, if 21-30 you start with 3 points.

I have selected a certain few members along with staff who will tell me who they rep. So I won't account some random strangers rep.

I will also accept anyone's best answer and add +2 rep to their score for each best answer they have to someone else's topic.

Since E3 is this month I will hold a second contest as well. Which the winner will get a video game credit card totaled $30. This contest will only run for the week of E3 and will be based on how unique your posts made in the E3 boards only. I will post more details on this next weekend on Sunday.

And I agree with Mori. I could just negatively rep all of his posts. Should be staff rep only.
 
I still think the rep giving should be left to the staff. We don't usually give rep anyways, and those participating most likely wont be giving the competitors any rep during this contest :p

I'm personally find with the rules the way they are, but I still think everyone would prefer if only the staff had a say in how the contest goes.

That could be too much work for the staff though, so it could be limited to new topics.

That would make it easier to monitor things and you would be getting more new topics as well. :p
 
Yeah if just staff gives it this would be a good contest.

I'm new to all this, and I think this idea is outstanding. I haven't seen a forum yet do something like this other than one other one. But I never got the chance to do anything on that one yet either. So maybe this one will be ok to participate in. Anyways, good luck to all.
 
I've actually been thinking, do you think it would be a better idea to add more to this. Just getting rep isn't very competitive or triggers much motivation. Maybe adding new things to it such as best answers, etc?
