Although Kingdom Hearts HD II.5 ReMIX releases later this year, the remake's launch isn't interfering with progress on Kingdom Hearts III development, the game's do-director said in a recent interview.

"We've been working full throttle," Tai Yasue told GameInformer. "It's moving along. We structured our team in a way that development of 2.5 doesn't impede Kingdom Hearts III. I'm actually very excited about Kingdom Hearts III."

Despite the many fans hoping for a new Kingdom Hearts III trailer at E3 this year, Yasue said 2014 is "the year of 2.5" for Square Enix. The developer wanted to push 2.5 this year, as it did with Kingdom Hearts 1.5 ReMIX last year, in order to make the transition between titles smoother.

"Making teasers and trailers really does require a lot of work, and we just wanted to get the development moving along quickly on Kingdom Hearts III, so this year we really focused on 2.5," he said.

Yasue said that much of the needed preparation comes from the fact that Square is moving to next-gen consoles with the next numbered installment, and although the new technology presents an array of new opportunities, it still takes some getting used to.

Final Fantasy XV, the other side of Square Enix's eagerly-awaited duo, wasn't shown at E3 either. However, Shinji Hashimoto, producer at Square, said that the JRPG's development is coming along smoothly, and the company is planning to release information "post-E3."

I don't see why it would since a outsource company has been doing KH HD.
