Kickass Torrents in Danger?

Anyone here use this torrent site? If you have not heard, its owner was arrested and the site could very well vanish for good.

You'd have to be pretty careless to operate a large torrent site by using traceable names and addresses and living in a country that has anti-piracy laws.

Last I heard the site was back up and running again with a new domain and name. You can't keep a good torrenting site down for long.

From what I heard the evidence they had was kinda flimsy really. They had an IP that was used for an itunes transaction which was also signed into a KAT facebook page back in July 2015. I mean this is pretty weak evidence unless they can prove where this IP was, that he was using it, that this account wasn't hacked, etc...
I mean if his IP is an internet cafe or public space then big deal... plenty of people could have used that IP for any number of things.

It is disappointing that KickAss torrents site could be gone because some users may use the site for legal purposes like downloading opensource/free Linux operating systems, freeware or opensource software, and non-copyrighted public domain music, films, and eBooks which are now harder to find as a direct download on a website because of the huge bandwidth require to share operating system iso image files, music, video, and eBooks.

I don't particularly care because I don't use torrents almost at all, and when I do, I use a local torrent tracker from my country.

Well i do some times but i have used it in a long time in faked i have not used any do to the fake they are full of shit never what it said to be and a lot of viruses.
