Today at their conference, Ms announced Killer Instinct for Xbox one which is a fighter game with humanoid animals. This game series has not seen the day of light since back the SNES and is not being made by Rare.
As long as they keep to the original. Just from the combo I can say they need to drop the word "combo". Just ULTRA repeated three times with an echo. And the music. The music of the original was awesome. Keep those two things and the amazing combos and you will have a winner. And have a guy that can cut you with his mohawk.
Interesting; Killer Instinct is one of my very favorite fighting games, and KI Gold is decent as well. I'll be bummed if it turns out to be mediocre; Rare's neo classics (if you will) didn't fare too well on the 360, and maybe a different developer taking a swing could be a good thing. Whatever direction the game takes, I just hope there's an emphasis on combos as with the classic KI games.
Good to see Killer Instinct coming back, but the combos ought to be made easier than on the SNES and Gameboy versions. I have the Gameboy version and the combo controls weren't easy.
I'll be watching this game. I'm not sold on it, but it looks like it'll be a good revival of the series. I know that there are a lot of people asking for this to come back and I hope that they continue in the direction that the games for the SNES took.
Eh, not very optimistic about this game. I loved the Killer Instinct for Snes and 64 but fighting games just aren't really my style these days. And Rare's track record as of late has been less than impressive and I don't expect much from them at this point.
But it does look awesome seeing the old characters in HD. Man Jago was so bad ass... actually all the characters of Killer Instinct were awesome lol. You could be a Mike Tyson style boxer vs a godly bionic robot thing. When I think of it in nostalgia terms I am definitely more excited for this game than if I think of it rationally haha. Please don't suck, please don't suck.
