The Microsoft Kinect is a ground-breaking device, there's no doubt about that, but an issue that plagued many of its users was the space required to adequately utilize the motion-sensing camera. Aware of the problem, Nyko has introduced the Zoom, the first useful accessory for the Kinect.

The Nyko Zoom is a snap-on attachment that adjusts the viewing angle of the Kinect, decreasing the required distance needed to play by up to 40%. No batteries are required and you can use the Zoom on any Kinect title and supports both single and multiplayer games.

The Zoom for Kinect will be available on August 16 for $29.99

sounds like this should have been out at kinect launch.

It looks like some kind of de-magnifying device. A good idea, but shouldn't cost $30 for some lenses and plastic.

Like Demon said, it should have been released with the initial launch of the Kinect or built in. I don't think it will be that useful for me, so, I don't plan to get it. But, you never know, I might find myself living in cramped quarters and might need it.

I don't have a really small space, but sometimes I hit the couch when I play some games, so this would be actually really useful for me. But I don't think it's worth 30 dollars for a piece of lens and plastic.
