Kinect: Biggest platform launch in the history of the industry

Microsoft is gearing up for what will likely be the largest launch of any game console to in history. Phil Spencer Corporate Vice President of Microsoft Game Studios in a recent interview has said “In North America 7,000 retailers are doing midnight events when we ship and our pre-order momentum looks huge. So this, for us, is bigger than Xbox launch, bigger than 360 launch – this is a big deal for us.” In addition Spencer is very confident in the initial sales projections. “We are investing in this like we’ve never invested in a platform launch,” he claimed “This is, for us the biggest platform launch in the history of the industry.”
Will Microsoft succeed and Kinect will become one of the coveted holiday must have items? Time will soon tell as we are less than 1 month away from launch. Although we are not supposed to blog about the new Kinect enabled dashboard all I can say is there are really welcome improvements on the way .
