Pre-order sales for Microsoft Corp.’s Kinect hardware with Kinect Adventures for Xbox 360 sold out this week at Amazon.com Inc. due to high demand for the motion controller.

On Tues., the Kinect hardware held a sold out status at Amazon’s Video Games division and was unavailable for pre-order.

The Xbox 360 4GB hardware SKU with Kinect and Kinect Adventures and the Xbox 360 250GB Kinect Special Edition Bundle were available for pre-order Tues.

Retailer GameStop Corp. Tues. held an available pre-order status for the Kinect hardware at GameStop.com in the same period. Additionally, Wal-Mart Stores Inc. held availability of a Kinect Two-Game Bundle at Walmart.com.

Microsoft in Nov. will sell the Xbox 360 4GB hardware SKU with Kinect and Kinect Adventures at $299.99.

Additionally, it will sell the Xbox 360 250GB Kinect Special Edition Bundle with an Xbox 360 250GB Slim SKU, and Kinect hardware with Kinect Adventures at $399.99.

Kinect launch titles include Kinect Sports, Kinect Joy Ride, Kinect Adventures!, Kinectimals, Game Party: In Motion, Your Shape: Fitness Evolved, Dance Central, The Biggest Loser Ultimate Workout, and Sonic Free Riders.

Kinect will be released to U.S. retail Nov. 4 at $149.99.

The Kinect hardware, formerly dubbed Project Natal, is a slender bar that will sit near a television to detect player movement and sound.

Menu navigation demonstrations include facial recognition to auto-login to Xbox Live and waving through menu screens.

Microsoft in Sept. began sale of the Xbox 360 250GB Halo: Reach Bundle at $399.99.

I wonder if most of the buyers are buying the bundle or just the Kinect separately.

I wonder how many of them are buying them just to resell them.
